After mixed messages of who could and couldn’t play,
the numbers just didn’t add up and the seconds were
forced to give a walkover to Northern Socials for the
opening round of their season.

The firsts were off to Blake Park for their Round 4
match against Preston Himalayan.

They won the toss and put the undermanned
opposition side in to bat. It was a good decision
as the wickets fell quickly and after 29 overs
Preston Himalayan were all out for 104.

Kalra 2/7.

Our batsmen got off to a good start with
the score at 34 before losing Nathan Costello,
they put on another 25 runs when Darren Turner
was runout on 48.

The score had gone to 116 when Ovee Bhuyan
was out LBW and continued to mount as
Tonie Kalra notched up his first century for the club
before having to retire hurt.

Robbie Kristenson and Aishwary Nikam continued
to add to the run tally with the score 3/208 before
Fairfield declared.

Preston Himalayan started off their second
innings with the score 0/18 off 7 overs before
the days play ended.

Congratulations to Robbie Kristenson and
Aishwary Nikam who were both playing
their first game for the Fairfield Cricket Club,
Robbie was 19no and Aish was 8no with a
run out and a catch to his stats for the day.
